This in-depth workshop will guide participants through types of writing, common barriers to writing, and different types of writing assessments. Additionally, we’ll dive deeply into feedback: teacher-to-student, peer-to-peer, and student self-reflection. Through this training you will learn the foundations of S.M.A.R.T., including the research behind it, the basic movements of a S.M.A.R.T. course, how to implement it within your current curriculum, and how to modify/expand S.M.A.R.T. according to group and student needs. You will also prepare materials and lesson plans to be able to begin S.M.A.R.T. in your classroom right away.
AM: Facilitation of the content and teaching of S.M.A.R.T. approach
PM: Prep of materials (slap track creation by the team, create visual trackers and start a continuum of how to teach/move SMART) for teams to get the first few weeks started for their school.
