Cooperative Educational Service Agency 8 (CESA 8) today announced its selection as a 2025 EDSAFE AI Alliance District Policy Lab Selectee. This recognition positions CESA 8 as a leader in responsibly integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into education, providing a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI policy for schools nationwide.
The EDSAFE AI Alliance Policy Labs are a pioneering, voluntary community of practice dedicated to navigating the complex and rapidly evolving landscape of AI in education. The network brings together states and school districts to develop and implement clear, effective, and responsible AI policies and guidance aligned with the SAFE Framework.
"We are honored to be selected for this collaborative," said Jenny Ambrosius, CESA 8 Director of Technology. "Our participation in the EDSAFE AI Alliance Policy Lab will help us establish informed, ethical, and effective AI guidelines to benefit our learning community. I am pleased to contribute to a national dialogue on AI Policy in Education."
As a Policy Lab selectee, CESA 8 will collaborate with a national network of peers to share insights, best practices, and challenges related to developing effective AI frameworks tailored to educational settings. The work of these labs will directly impact millions of students, thousands of educators, and leaders nationwide.
This initiative is part of the EDSAFE AI Alliance's broader effort, supported by Google.org, to expand its reach and triple its impact over the next three years. The funding will help the network grow to 44 school districts and 20 states.
